Refund / Cancellation Policy

This policy explains refunds, cancellations, rescheduling, and defective digital products for ebooks, audio files, and online Japanese lessons provided through Japanese-Language-Note.

1. Free Ebook

The free ebook is provided free of charge. Because there is no payment, refunds do not apply.

2. Paid Ebooks and Digital Audio Files

Paid ebooks, PDFs, audio files, and other digital downloads are delivered electronically. As a general rule, refunds are not available after purchase.

If a file is damaged, incorrect, missing, or cannot be downloaded, please contact us within 7 days of purchase. We will try to provide a working file or download link. If we cannot provide the purchased digital product due to our mistake, we will offer an appropriate solution.

3. Free Trial Lesson

The first 30-minute trial lesson is free. If you need to reschedule the trial lesson, please contact us as early as possible.

4. Paid Private Lessons

After the free trial lesson, paid private lessons begin only when the student and teacher agree to start lessons and the payment has been completed. Once payment has been completed, refunds are not available.

If the student cannot use the remaining lesson time for personal reasons, the unused lesson fees are not refundable.

Private lesson packages are valid for 3 months from the first paid lesson. Unused lessons after the validity period will expire.

5. Private Lesson Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule a private lesson, please contact us by 8:00 p.m. Japan time on the day before the scheduled lesson date.

  • Requests made by 8:00 p.m. Japan time on the day before the lesson date can be rescheduled.
  • Requests made after 8:00 p.m. Japan time on the day before the lesson date cannot be changed for any reason.
  • If the student cannot attend the lesson after the deadline, the reserved lesson time will be counted as used.
  • If the student is late, the lesson end time cannot be extended.
  • If the teacher cancels a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled or credited.
  • If the teacher has a scheduled vacation, the lesson package validity period will be extended by the number of vacation days.

6. Group Lessons

The schedule for group lessons is decided before the group lesson course begins. After the course has started, the schedule cannot be changed.

  • If a student misses a group lesson for personal reasons, no make-up lesson will be provided.
  • If the teacher cancels a group lesson, a make-up lesson will be provided.
  • Group lesson fees are not refundable after payment has been completed, except where required by law or when we are unable to provide the agreed lessons.

7. Payment and Transfer Fees

Bank transfer fees, PayPal fees, currency conversion fees, or international transfer fees are the student’s responsibility unless the cancellation or refund is caused by our mistake.
